Denver Airport Parking Update: Temporary Closures Coming

DENVER (KDVR) – If you’re flying from Denver International Airport in the coming months, be aware that you’ll have fewer parking options.

What to Expect

  • Sections 3 and 4 of the Pikes Peak Shuttle Lot.
  • Sections 1 and 2 shelters will remain operational, and about 4,500 spots on the lot’s north side will stay open.
  • Improvements include shelter island reconstruction, curb updates, new snow storage, drainage improvements, repaving, restriping, and work to ensure ADA compliance.

  • The Longs Peak shuttle lot is no longer available
  • Consider other DEN parking options: East/West Economy, East/West Garage, or the 61st and Peña lots.

What you need to know about Denver Airport Parking

  • Eligibility: To qualify for RTD Park-N-Ride ONLY free parking, veterans must possess a valid:
    • Drivers whose vehicles display a valid disabled placard or license plate (including disabled veterans) are exempt from paying parking fees for the first 24 hours. For parking that extends beyond the first 24 hours, a $2.00 daily fee applies.
    • RDT Disabled driver’s exemption form
    • Military ID card with a service-connected disability designation.
    • Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability ID card.

      • It is a 15 to 17-minute ride, plan your time accordingly.
    • This Free RTD Parking is good for longer flights, otherwise, it is less expensive in the Denver International Airport Economy Parking Lot
      • Pikes Peak Lot at $8 per day – Free shuttle to Terminal
  • Designated Parking: Look for blue and white handicapped parking signs displaying the international symbol of access alongside a military logo. These spaces are situated near terminal entrances for easy access.
  • Identification: Upon entering the parking lot, be prepared to present your valid military or VA ID card to an attendant or display it clearly in your vehicle’s window.
